background..... when was it introduced...who by brief outline of main arguements

What is skin to skin.....contact between mum & babe immediately after delivery for as long as wanted. - outline best practice/Trust guidelines on length of time - relevant studies

Who can do it.......Mum, dad/birth partner, breast or bottle feeding.

Why do it......benefits regulates baby's temp, mother baby bonding, initiates breastfeeding, breast crawl, calms baby, baby latches easier. - kangeroo care here too - role of parentcraft in education of skin to skin - relevant studies - evidence based practice

Difficulties......lack of staff, busy unit, unit rountine, partner jealousy, medical (link this to kangaroo care) unit culture/staff & parents & cultural attitudes

Conclusion.
