I'm on nights Mon - Weds next week, so any tips much appreciated, especially for the first one, will already have slept all the night before, so won't sleep in the day, so how on earth am I meant to stay awake all the first night??
Glad you are enjoying it

Re nights, I always try to have a two hour afternoon nap the day of the night shift, you will be amazed how you manage though.

The first one is the hardest, take plenty to drink and a few snacky things too, they really help. And make sure the following day you get 6 or more hours sleep ready for the next night. On the last one, the following morning limit yourself to sleeping for four or five and you should be able to sleep that night.

We usually get an hour and a half kip during the shift, though not always possible.

I am working Mon and Tues night so will think of you staying awake too!

Hope it goes well
