our local trust has just reintroduced secondments! So MCA's can train to be MW on the 3 year degree programme. Can't believe it! Think they have scrimped and saved and cut down on so much recently that they have magically found some money to employ 6 new MCA's, to second present MCA's, to up all recent graduates hours to full time, and i see that they are now also recuriting for one or two more MW's. Me thinks we are coming to the end of the financial year PDQ and money NEEDS to be spent so as to ensure correct funding next year....screwy!!
