Unhappy Re: What keeps you motivated in the tough times?

Reading thank you cards from women, eating chocolate and icecream, crying and moaning to my fellow student midwifes, talking to my mentor about my issues, remembering that there's not long left to go, hugs from my boyfriend and a nice foot rub after a long stressful day on the wards, remembering why I started the course and how I felt on a great day, biting the bullet and getting on with assignments, wine, vodka, getting away from it all and doing something completely non-midwifery related for a day, daydreaming about a holiday and travelling when I qualify.... And all because I know deep down that this is the right career for me and that you can't beat the highs.
