We usually have a main mentor and a deputy, and they share us between other students, its often not up to the mentors to sort out, perhaps she didn't know the other student was working.
We just got used being passed from pillar to post in the end I gave up caring, I did my own off duty (as we all do at my trust now) and put myself on with people who didn't have a student that day.
Its harder in the 1st year, but after 4 years now, no-one seems to mind x
