I don't think there is anything wrong with crying at a birth at all, there is so much emotion involved its difficult not to, I think sometimes thats the problem with midwifery that some are so detached from it all like they have all these barriers around them, its no wonder students find it difficult, one of my mentors sheds a tear at practically every delivery and always gives them a big kiss and a cuddle afterwards and tells them how fantastic they were, she's been qualified 30 years and she said she still gets the same kick out of a delivery as she did from being a student-needless to say she's an inspiration to all of us students, we all call her 'Aunty' bless her she's fab, she's always said not to be afraid of crying, even with stillbirth she said you should show your emotions.
