You guys are brilliant. Thats just what I was looking for.
I have to ask, on acount of being a muppet, what does MCA stand for?
Is is Midwife Care Assistant?
I had a brief chat with my Line superviser who felt that HCA's may not get seconded over to Midwifery being a different discipline to that than Nursing which is the area in which I currently work.
But in all honesty I dont get the feeling she would like to lose any more of her HCA's to nursing or OT so was pretty off hand about it and seriously doubt she would be particuarly helpful.
Luckily the rest of my team is excellent.
I did debate getting a job on the Midwifery ward here to get a better idea but at present I'm a B grade NA and would have to drop in my million pound a week wages (hey you know I'm telling porkies dont you!).
So I think I'll get my NVQ3 finished and stalk our training dept bird once my youngest starts pre school.

Wannabeemidwife type bird- I'd be ever so grateful if you let me know how you get on, thanks.
