Default Re: Nhs Secondment?

Really good to read about others' situations!

I've worked as a clerk for over 6 years for my local NHS hopsital Trust. When I started my Access course in '06 I was added to the secondment list - however, they've withdrawn the secondment scheme due to lack of funds. I was gutted - because I am not entitled to the means-tested bursary either. There are a couple of us in this position at work. My husband earns a good salary, but we also have a large mortgage and three children. Giving up my job and having to pay out for childcare will be a real struggle.

However, I have now succumbed to the situation will still continue to do reduced shifts in the office. I am also relying on a Student Loan. Hopefully, there will be time to work and see my kids! :-(

There are no incentives for married women with children, in education. Education should be accessible by all!!

Sorry for rant, just still a bit cross.
