MM, I love reading your experiences, they are very refreshing and I hope are inspiring new students to get 'stuck in' straight away. I had a similar experience with flat baby at the start of my DS placement. Baby didn't breathe for 7 mins - I will never forget her. It made me realise that sometimes things go wrong, even when there has been no indications. She was fine in the end, but It could have been different and It made me think about how I would react if we ended up having a worse case senario and the baby hadn't have made it - what I would say to the parents and how I would manage my own feelings.

It's good exprience, and let's face it, we are all probably going to have to deal with that situation now and again.
