I think either Myles or Mayes is essentail to have, a good A & P book, i also think the ballieries dictionary is good because its small and you could take it on placement with you then if you hear anything you dont understand you can just flick through it and find out.
I also like The New Midwifery, and Midwifery by Ten Teachers.
