Re: C/ sections, should women be given the choice??
Hi i think it varies on case to case.
I have had 4 different births and i would opt for a nother C section if i had another. My first DD was born by forceps after a failed ventouse and it was vert traumatic and her face was very badly bruised and looked awful it was not how i thought it was going to be. My second DD was a normal SVD everything went great and i came home after 6 hours. My DS everything was going great and then he got his heartrate dropped and never recovered then went totally so i ahd a crash section under general and it was all scary i didnt even know what i had till i woke up and then i was poorly so it was about 3 hours before i saw my son and i feel that i lost vital time with him. My last child i had an elective section under a spinal block and it was great i got to hold her straight away while they were suturing me up and i didnt lose any time with her.
i was told with my last that i could have a normal delivery as i had had previous deliveries but i chose not to as the last had been traumatic and my consultant oked that adn for that i was greatly pleased.
