Re: Energy levels I find that a small 'fun size' box of raisins in your pocket can help. Or a banana with a cup of tea/coffee at any time. A box of nuts/seeds that you can dip into every now and then is useful too. Sometimes you just have to take 10 mins to look after yourself. If you are feeling wobbly from not eating, you are in no fit state to care for someone else.
Even if its just a pack of glucose sweets in your pocket (especially when you are stuck in theatre or recovery) can be useful as a temporary measure.
