RCMTwo new surveys of midwives and new mothers by the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) show that women are being short-changed on vital public health services and advice because of midwifery shortages. The surveys – published during Midwifery Week 2008 - show that women are not getting the level and quality of service needed in areas such as smoking cessation, breastfeeding and alcohol intake and obesity.
