When I went to an open day before applying to my uni, I spoke to a tutor there as I was worried about being rejected due to lack of hospital experience (I'd heard it had happened to others) so I asked her about it, she asked me if I had kids, I said yes, to that she said 'well you have plently of life experience and you can bring that to midwifery'. So, really agree with the others, it certainly won't go against you. Good luck!
