I don't "bank" missed breaks etc.. but will go home if its quiet and I haven't had an earlier break so I suppose its swings and roundabouts really.
I usually do 7.5 hours uni, then get a study day so another 7.5 so have to do 22.5 hours in placement so I do a 12 hour and a 10.5 so I get 2 days off to study (shopping housework etc..) but it works better for me for childcare in the mornings.
Most mentors are really good and try to ensure you get a break but they often presume you have had one when you haven't your better off giving them a gentle reminder that your starving etc ..
