Default Re: Has Anyone Done A Midwifery Access Course With The Distance Learning Centre/dlc?

Hi there

I have just introduced myself in 'introduce yourself' section last night, but thought i'll post a message here as this thread presents me with a few questions to ask, if you dont mind!

I have planned for a while to do Biology A-level evening course at a local college, and was just waiting for the prospectus to come out at the end of this month so i can apply, in order to begin this September. However i just spoke to someone at the college and they told me that they pulled biology due to lack of funding. I was sooooo gutted. This was last week. Since then i have done some research and was interested in doing the distance learning aspect of it, particulary because i am deaf, and struggle with lectures. I was just trying to decide which insitution to work with. Then i read this thread. This threw spanner in the works! So now, i have to ask myself, which is better, A-level or Access? I would appreciate your thoughts on this?

Just to update you with my education achievements - I have A-levels in Sociology, and Psychology, both with A grades, critical thinking at D, and general studies at B. I also did travel and tourism when i was 16 for a year (AVCE) i was hoping all this would be enough to enter the midwifery degree but it doesnt seem to be the case as science is needed. :-(

I just realised i cant read previous posts while im replying, so i cant comment on the other posts - i cant remember who said what! sorry!

Annie
