Also, you said they'd offered you a car if you live there part-time - that wouldn't be soo bad - if you've got a few days between shifts etc head down - maybe work three long shifts in a row - then you've four days off??

btw - my partner did his masters in sheffield while we lived in bristol - started it when the girls were about 3 months old - could only come home for a weekend every few months because of the cost - that was 4 years ago - he's been home for a year now and looking back it flew by!
