Question Secondment to midwifery

Hi there,

I have been accepted to a 18 months course in midwifery.I am currently working as a nurse but in a wrd I don't particularly like very much.
I am uncertain whether to accept or not, part of me is very interested in becoming a midwife part of me is scared of restarting to follow lectures and writing essays again.

Anyhow I would like to ask a few things, that i have not been able to ask at the interview otherwise I think I would have not been considered at all.

I will be seconded by the Trust I work for. In case I don't like the course can I leave any time? Do I have to pay the salary that they have paid me back?
Also about maternity leave, would I be entitled to any? ( not that I am thinking about children as I have a little one already but if I asked during the interview they would have showed me the door straight away ).

What about the NHS pension?
Does it continue to be paid during the secondment?

Thanks
