Concerning.......... in my area all the nqm's were given something at least, all part time and temporary contracts and some have got extra hours at our sister hospital and make the hours up that way. The problem here is that the Obs unit looks set to close and be shifted 20 odd miles up the road and the Obs unit replaced by a midwife led service, which is great but not so great for women that wont have 'normal' deliveries and for students that need an obs unit to train in to get certain skills signed off..... |
