Default Which Access Course Did You Take??

I am currently looking at access courses to apply in 2008 or 2009. I am living abroad so need to study online. I am looking at the Open University course K100 which is 'Health and Social Care'. I also found a course called 'Access to Midwifery' which I thought would be perfect BUT I spoke to someone at Southampton and she recommended a 'science based access course' instead, not sure why. I would have thought that ALL the material would be relevant to the profession ... What have other students studied? Have many of you taken an access course through the Open Uni or similar? As we do not know where we will be coming back to live (!!) it is difficult for me to say which uni I will be applying to and I don't want to start on the wrong course so need a course which would be good for all unis if possible!! I can start the OU one next month but I need to be quick!! Thanks for your help. BTW I have no science A' levels but have a degree in education and a post grad teaching certificate ... qualified in 1994.
