Sara Wickham wrote a good article in TPM about apgars. Any midwifery book will give you good background, even the johnson and taylor skills book as to how to actually use it.
There is ton of skin to skin stuff out there, its just a question of looking. When I get my essay back on monday i will post up some useful references including the wickham one. Am guessing you can wait seeing as you got the title today?
