Default Questions at interview, to ask!

I have been thinking of questions to ask at interview but am struggling, I know there are no wrong questions but I think all my questions seem silly and are things I should probably know, I don't want to ask a question and make them think i have not done my research nor do I not want to pose a question and it go against me - ikwim.
Thanks for any advice

A good general question that is unlikley to be answered in the interview (as they do give you alot of info aswell as ask you questions) is 'what are the further training opportunities in the Trust?' show you are thinking ahead and keen to learn, it maybe they offer ALSO training after so many years service etc.... even better ask about ALSO training (advanced life support training in obstetrics)

I asked how many of the course lecturers were currently practising as midwives. And what the attrition (drop out) rate was on the course, and why the people that left during the course did so.

I asked them....

"Since it is part of the NMC code of professional conduct to take part in the education and development of others entering the profession, do you get many qualified midwives with a real drive towards mentoring students? How many experience problems with mentors who don't wish to mentor? How do mentors feel about students taking deliveries and providing care for "their ladies"?"

"As there course is obviously very full on and stressful, how does the drop out rate relate to this?"

"How many of last years third year students received jobs after they qualified?"

"Could you tell me a little about the dissertation/Research and viva module in third year"

"How is the university and their staff involved in research in the area of midwifery and the maternity services? nationwide/local research?"

"Is there anything else you suggest I should read up on/would interest me between now and when the course is due to start?"

God I think I was a pain in the ass!!!
