A question I was asked at one of my interviews (that I totally messed up) was;
what are the skills of a midwife?
I was also asked the following questions;

What does a midwife do?
What does your family think of you applying to uni?
What have I done to prepare for the interview.course?
What had I read in preperation for the course?
I can't remember the way the question was worded exactly, but I was asked how I would deal with a person from a different culture/religion to my own?
What are the advantages of teamwork?
What can get in the way of a tem running smoothly
If they asked a friend what my strengths and weaknesses were, what do I think they would say?

I was asked in my interviews different questions examples like

Why did I want to be a Midwife?
What is the role of a Midwife?
What does a Midwife do?
What skills did I think I had which would transfer over to Midwifery?
How do I deal with conflict?
What had I read?
How would I cope with a Stillbirth?
How had I prepared for the interview?
How would I manage working shifts, nights etc?

I have a dilema in answering the nurse/midwife question. I was asked why midwifery and not nursing?

I guess that if I get an interview I may be asked that again as I did start the adult nursing diploma.

Any ideas??

A nurse looks after sick people, a midwife looks after well people!



Hopefully working as a midwife.....somewhere

Gosh I'm struggling to remember but I think it was,
how are you with time management?
how will you cope with the shifts?
what part do you see the male/partner playing in the birth process?
how do i feel about antenatal education?
we also had to write 2 sides of A4 about the role of the midwife xx

Not really though. Midwives will look after people who have a range of illnesses for example mental health issues or diabetes. Also pregnancy can make women quite poorly like excessive sickness.
