When I had my interview, the topic we were given was alcohol, we could write about anything connected to that, it didn't have to be midwifery related.
Not sure if that helps.

A hospital based midwife works soley in the hospital, either in the ante natal clinic, ante or post natal wards or delivery suite. Their duties really depend on where they are working. I hope this is some help for you Ems, I hope it is. If you have any other questions, just ask and I will try to answer them

Your more than welcome hun, I remember that feeling well from when I had my interviews.
![]() My advice...for what it's worth lol, is to try to relax as much as you can (sooo hard I know) listen to what they tell you before the interview carefully, smile at the tutors, take a couple of minutes to think about the question before you answer it, give as much info in your answer as you can, and if you think of something after you have answered a question, just ask if you can add something to your answer. They know you will be nervous, and they won't mind at all (in my experience) Let your passion for midwifery shine through, I didn't get in following my interview, I falied the maths test that they had , but I was told that the tutors could see how passionate I was, and I got in through clearing, so it really does make a differenceI wish you loads of luck for tomorrow, and don't forget to let us know how it went ![]() Pauline x

Seeing how I have had my interview now thought I would let you know the questions I was asked.
Why do you want to become a midwife What is the role of the midwife What do you think the current issues are with midwifery and something about how the press portray midwifery(sorry already forgot the exact question) How has your access course helped you prepare for Uni If you were to be given an assignment and it was to be handed in for 4 weeks time, how would you prepare for it. Oh and if we asked all your family and friends why I would make a good midwife what would they say and what would they say you may have problems with on the midwifery course. Think that was it anyway hope it helps someone. |
