We did an essay at leeds... it asked for the qualities we believed were needed in a midwife.

Thanks very much for that... I think I'm making too much out of it and worrying myself unduly! Just conscious that this is the only place I've applied for, so the pressure's on to do well...

That's really nice of you - thanks! I'm just worried that I won't know enough about the topic they give to me on the day... not sure if there's anything specific I should be reading up on!
Also, I don't know which journals I should be reading to revise the current issues surrounding the NHS - any tips on that? Or any websites I can look at... I've spent a fair few hours this week trawling the internet for help (after coming home from work having worked 12 hour shifts!). Not quite pulling my hair out just yet, but getting there! |

Thanks so much for all your suggestions and help... I can't tell you how much it's appreciated!
I really don't know what to write about - I think I need to look into current issues/debates, the qualities that make a midwife, and something to study indepth for any discussions we might have on the day. I've got the whole interview in one day - I spoke to the Administrator at Bangor, and she was lovely... said we'd have a group talk with one of the tutors, then a group discussion with the other interviewees, and then I had to phone for an appointment in the afternoon for my 1-2-1 interview, so at least I get it all over with in one fell swoop! I believe there's a journal I can buy in the shops - I was under the impression that WHSmiths stocked it, but I've searched online and I can't find any! How often is the online one published? And could I get hold of previous copies? I need to get hold of something asap so I can start preparing!! |
