eeekk! just applied

so, I was going to leave it until 2009 start. Then I thought - why? The course I'm doing will be done by then, ok I'm hoping to get a position as an MCA, but I havent heard anything yet.
The only reason I was waiting is because my husband wanted another addition before I went back to uni and started to climb the career ladder. But now we've seperated... why wait?!
OK, so I know its a late application, so I have far less chance of a place. But at least I've tried. If I dont get one, then I try again next year and I lose nothing.
I am sooooooo excited! Its silly, I probably wont get a place, they'll all be dished out quite soon, but at least I feel I am actively pursuing my ambition now, rather than doing things to work towards it, but it seeming so far away.
everything crosses! open day next week too, exciting!

You go girl! Well done on applying! Which one have you applied to? whats the cut off date for applications? I have no idea I only applied to Brighton, and had to get it in my Dec I think..... *slaps brain to remember*......

thanks everyone! I've applied to the UEA, I know the competition is extremely tough but I know I'd be such a good midwife,I just hope they can see that.
All apps submitted after January are late and may not even be looked at - it depends if they fill their quota from those that are on time. I'll just play the waiting game now...

ha ha, i didnt apply until i split up with my husband as well. I kept putting it off as he told me i was inconsistent and wouldnt stick with it. I was only inconsistent as i was running around being a sap picking up his mess! So happy liberation ( i hope it is anyway?!) to you and i hope you are not too late for this year.
And if you are, hey ho, you have a whole year to prepare for next year and enjoy yourself before the work kicks in!!

STMW 2nd year - no, really!

It is a happy liberation in some respects - he broke our marriage vows and thathurt,especially since I have done everything for him over the last 4 years. He hasnt worked for 2 through mental illness, and I have to give up work to care for him. So its a relief in those ways. I do still love him, and its odd adjusting my life for just me and my daughter, but I know that in the end this will benefit both of us.
Hoping to get a job at the staff bank as a HCA in the meantime, and transfer to materntiy when a space becomes available, so will do that untilI get a place,whether its this year or in ten years!
Well done to you on getting on the course and sticking with it - not so inconsistent
