Default Cardiff numeracy assessment

Can anyone help me? I recently attended an interview with Cardiff Uni, I received a letter saying that I failed one section of the numeracy assessment but due to the fact that I scored highly in the interview and literacy assessment they want me to re-sit the numeracy. There are five sections to the numeracy assessment but the one that I failed on was 'combined calculations'. Does anyone know what this involves? My re-sit is on Wednesday so I would be really grateful for any ideas.

Thank you

Hi Carla B,
I think if I remember rightly it was a number of fractions and decimals where you had to divide, subtract, multiply etc. You had to change both to decimals to work out the sum correctly! I think that was it??
Good luck and let me know if I was right!! xx

good luck Carla, blimey it sounds TOUGH!!
But, you are obviously gonna be well prepared seeing as you know which section it is now! I think I would never have got a place if i had to have done fractions and decimals in test conditions, i find it hard enough out of it! So really really good luck, it sounds as though the interview and everything else went well, so just practice practice practice until wednesday and keep calm and read the questions through properly!

More than likely it would be a question that is mixed.. like 0.25 + 1/2 or 3/4 - 0.5

Lol Well 0.25 in fractions is 1/4 and 1/2 is 2/4... so answer is 3/4?
