Default interview clothing?

Hey guys, was just wondering what was best to wear for the interview? I don't want to go "too job interveiw" but at the same time jeans and a smart top sound too casual. I'm thinking black trousers and a smart "spring time top". any thoughts?

Much appreciated as always, hope all are well

Hi Rachael,

I wore black pants, a blouse and a black jacket, but I would say go with what you feel comfortable in, the last thing you want is to feel uncomfortable throughout your interview.

Good luck x

I wore a black suit.. that had a dark green pinstrip running through it.. with a dark green v-neck fitted t-shirt underneath to make it a bit less dressy.. with black boots..

I wore business suit.

A lot of the girls at the interviews i went to wore black trousers, white blouses and some wore black cardies or tank tops.

I would stay well clear of jeans

Hello There!!!

For my interviews I wore different things... for Leeds I wore brown trousers with a white vest top and pink cashmere V-neck jumper. For Teesside I wore a black trouser suit with pinky pinstripe with a pink stripey blouse. For York I believe I wore the same suit with a more casual top under it.

Wear what makes you comfortable. I wouldn't go for jeans, but I wouldn't go for killer heels either.. you may have to do a bit of walking!

Hi Rachel,
I wore black trousers, and a smart top, for my interviews. Small heels (sensible!) and a nice bag. I know what you mean about not looking like its a job interview, so I tried to avoid looking too business like. Basically I think its best to look nice and smart and approachable! Jeans are a definate no no I think. I didnt see one person in a pair of jeans.
Good luck xx

Hi Rachel,
I wore a black suit, but other people had on smart casual and there was at least two people wearing jeans. what you have chosen sounds about right, so relax and go show them what you are made of.

I did see someone with skinny faded jeans, ballet slippers and an emo-ish baggy top (black and pink skulls!) ... i do wonder if she got a place or not!
