Hi Rachael
I really hope you have taken heart and courage from some of the lovely things these girlies have said? You are so obvioulsy passionate about what it is you want, so much so that I think you might overload yourself!!!!

Your enthusiasm shines through, which will certainly come across in the interview, all the reading you have done so far will have given you so much information, more than you actually realise probably. If you just relax into it, the information will flow, i promise you!

The fact that you are already enrolled on a degree course is in no way a negative, so don't let that trouble you. Just go for it, and offload here when you need to!!

Wishing you all the luck in the world
x

Congratulations you have entered the world of the true student midwife. This is what its like, you want it so much that you doubt yourself because you have high standards of what youd expect a good midwife to be.

The fact that you think like that and the fact that you have been actively reading around the subjects shows fantastic committment, passion and drive.

Perfect attributes for a great future student midwife.

You can do it xx

Hi Hun, just to reiterate - YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH!! I'm sure most of us on here have either planned or have done other things with our lives before realising midwifery was for us - a switch in career is no bad thing. As someone mentioned above, the fact that you are already on a degree course is fab - it shows you have the commitment to study - you are just on the wrong course! I worked as a fashion buyer for 12 years before realising it wasn't for me!! Go for it with bells on, show them your passion and you'll be fine!! Incidentally, I worked for Mackays for ages - their head office is in Paisley, so can picture where you are! Good luck and please let us know how you got on.xxx

Dont put too much emphasis on the journals hun. Be yourself - they will see that when they interview you. To go in there spouting things you have read here and there looks good but just dont try too hard. You sound fab. Good luck and please post ASAP how you have done. Good luck!! xxx

Glad your feeling better, it does help so much when you get encouragement from people who understand how your feeling. And best of luck with your interview, is it tomorrow?
