Hi Tracy

So sorry to hear you not got in. It might be useful for you to get some feedback from the uni's and take it from there as they all seem to look for different things - eg some want lots of care experience, some want quite high academic results, some want really thorough understanding of midwifery and the issues.

Fingers crossed for that reserve list!

kitkat

Hi Tracy,

Really sorry you were unsuccessful, but look at the positive, you are on the reserve list for Edge Hill, and there is still a chance you could get a place from that.

There is also clearing in August, that's how I got my place, so don't give up hope yet.

Good luck, hope you get some positve news from them. x

So sorry for you Tracy, but a reserve place may become available, so keep your fingers crossed.

In the meantime, what about a short course in counselling, or an alternative therapy course. Become a breast feeding peer supporter. Work as a volunteer in the local hospital. Apply for a job as a maternity care assistant.

Keep up to date with midwifery news and read journals, and spend loads of time on here (it's all in the name of research!).

Also, as has already been said, phone and ask for feedback on the interviews. This may give you some direction for improvement.

Tracy, I am so sorry to hear that, hun.

Big hugs to you.

I 'd echo the others really, get feedback from the uni and pester if needs be, it is essential you get it, even if it isn't helpful at least you know.

There is also clearing and extra, though extra is only applicable if you applied to several uni's

Good luck with it, keep us posted and stay positive! lotso fab students don't make it first time around

Hi Tracey

So sorry you didn't get a place. Everyone has said all the things I was going to say so, I'm just going to say that you need to get a place through clearing so that Michelle won't be lonely without you!!

I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you and hope you get in this year. Best of luck with the reserve list and clearing.
