When to apply for access course?

Hi ladies
Just been mulling some things over in my head (as you do) and I was wondering how/when you applied for access courses?
I've looked on the website for Worcs Tec as they do a part time course over 2 years which would be ideal as I can fit this around my jobs - it's an access to healthcare studies.

Originally I thought I would look to apply for Sept 09 but as I see it there's no real reason (other than sorting childcare) why I should apply for Sept intake but I don't know if I've left it too late or what the situation is. Think I might ring them tomorrow for a chat but anyone got any ideas?

When did you apply for your access course, did you have an interview (website states informal interview to assess suitability)

I applied in August and was accepted no problem! I would definately give them a ring though and double check!

Thanks Kate - I will give them a ring tomorrow, the only snags are the fees to pay £395 a year...eek! and sorting out childcare, might be able to sort my eldest out as he gets a government granted place 1 day a week atm which I'm hoping to increase to 2 days a week in Sept anyway but my youngest is only 13 months so would have to pay for him....arrrghhhh, why are things so damned difficult?! LOL

Also, do you know whether we have to pay tuition fees on top of the course fees - am confused by the website ?!?!

I am looking to do the part time access to healthcare course too. They are still taking people on so I would imagine Worcs would too. Phone them directly as I got loads of information by speaking to the course leader, really made me want to apply straight away!

All I can say is if it's your dream then go for it & the finances will sort themselves out eventually! Good luck

Hiya, I did HNC Computing part time and I applied at the open day during the summer holidays, didn't even have to go for an interview or anything, so don't think it's too late especially for part time courses, they don't fill up as soon as full time courses do. Good luck
