Question Interview for college

I've got an interview at college to do HNC healthcare - anyone else had interview for colleges? Are they pretty laid back or is it quite formal? I'm worried I won't get in because it says on my letter there is a lot of interest in the course and not many places, 26 I think it was, I'm nervous now! I can't believe the date I've to go, it's on the first day I'm due back at work from maternity leave!

OMG it was informal, of course I wore a pretty dapper suit!

(worra plank!!)

Anyway, you may need to call and check, my area has lots of spaces usually as we have a very high drop-out rate. SO mayb it is very formal?

i'd ring and ask what you're required to wear and what is expected of you in the interview

Oh and one last majorly important thing...

Good luck!!!! (not that you'll need it btw!)

Hiya, thank you girls, think I will phone them up, never actually thought of that!!!! Just went straight into worry-mode. I've actually been to this college 15 years ago day-release from work and it wasn't a very nice college back then (it even got raided by the police for drugs one day) but now seemingly it's totally changed and very nice and has a good reputation. I'm actually getting quite excited now - feels as though I'm on my way to be becoming a midwife! Ohhh so hope I get in!

I went smart/casual to my interviews at college,
and made sure I had plenty of reasons why I desreved a place on their course (I had also done a pre access too which helped no end)

One thing I would like to say though Bee, is that my college tried very very hard to get us wannabe midwifes to change our minds and go for nursing, as there are more places at uni, and your more likely to get a place.
If your college turns out to be like mine, IGNORE them, midwifery is your dream and passion I am sure so stay focused chuck, and give it your all

Before you know it you'll be posting telling us all you have an iterview for uni.

Good luck with your interview, keep us posted x x

2nd June, I just need to think of an excuse for work as to why I'm skiving off on my first day back! I haven't told them I leaving yet, I work with about 10 or 11 guys and they're not the most understanding bunch, one actually said before I finished up that he thought it was wrong that women got paid for maternity leave. Neanderthals. Thanks for the good luck wishes and I'll let you all know how I get on

I've heard of this happening a lot - especially because the college can guarantee a place at uni for nursing minus the need for an interview and everything. They try to coax you into nursing with the promise of a place. I'll be prepared for that now, had forgot about that one! Thanks
