I'm so sorry to hear that Frankie. I would try phoning the uni in question and asking for feedback about your application/interview.
They can give constructive critisicm - which will help you in future or may tell you everything was perfect but there was just someone slightly more suited for the place. Don't give up trying, have you had interviews for any of your other choices? Take Care

As flowerpot says - feedback, feedback, feedback! My uni scores everything - the application, the biographical questionaire and the interview - you have to score a certain amount to move to the next stage - then you get a communalitive score to maybe get an offer - if there are any places left
But getting feedback is a really good idea - if there are things you could have done better - you can sort it out for next year - if not - it's frustrating - but nice to know ready for next year too! |

Really sorry you haven't got a place. As the other's have said, definately ring the uni and ask for feedback, that way at least you know the reason, and it might be something you can easily sort for next year.
Good luck, and don't forget, there is always clearing, you may still get that place yet!

Frankie,
I am so sorry that you did not get in. You may not have done anything wrong at all, with places so few, they may have 2 or 3 times the number of ideal candidates and it really comes down to luck a lot of the time. As has been advised, do get feedback, I didn't get into my first choice and I felt so rejected but when I asked for feedback they told me I interviewed well but unfortunately was not selected which made me feel so much better. I am still gutted I didn't get in because I seriously do not know how I am going to be able to afford the travelling costs of the uni I did get into but I no longer feel it's a personal rejection, IYSWIM?

hey hun don't worry, i really started to panic and get upset when i was applying- i applied to 6 through UCAS and got rejected from 4, but the last 2 didnt come back til quite late on, so for quite a few months i didnt know if i was going to be successful. There were so many easier courses i could have got on to.
chin up hun, as said above it may not have been anything personal, and if you truly want this you will get it big hugs xxxxxx

Im sorry you did not get a place. Its a horrid position to be in and i have been there. The only thing i would do is to write to the uni and ask for feedback and how you could improve you application. Its what i did and i kept pestering them unitil i got some feed back and then i applied the next year and got in.
Good luck and dont beat yourself up its not easy to get in. I tryed for 3 years to get in.

Big hugs to you Frankie!! I agree with everything everyone has said and don't give up ever!! Some of the best students got in second time and remember you could try and get a place through clearing for this year but if not you can make a stronger application for next year.
