October would probably be fine - but a lot of the colleges it seem to think that so long as the dead line hasn't passed it's fine - but a lot of the places have already gone by then - so already your behind.
My college assured me the uni were interviewing everyone they wanted to before making any offers - which seems fair. When I actually went for interview they actually had just 2 places held (so they weren't interviewing anyone under false pretences!) which they continued to hold til the end - I got one Seriously though - it's just stress you don't need and the colleges are naughty not helping you the best they can! |

I think it is luck of the draw I know lots of people who didn't get a place and I think should of but I believe that the uni turn alot down thinking they would have better offers then struggled to fill the places.
I think it's more important to make sure your ps is perfect then sending it of before your ready just to get it in quick. Thats what I think anyway |

It worked for me I spent months on my ps as my college advised me not to include a certain part. I finally sent it the day before cut off (with the part my tutor and course administrator advised me not to include) and I have a place!

We put ours in around 23rd ish of October.. and that was after a LOT of nagging.. and the only reason we got ours in that "early" was because we were on year 2 of a 2 year access so our tutor knew us well enough to give a true reference. Those doing access over 1 yr had to wait til end of Nov to get theirs in so the tutors "knew them"

thanx guys, well the tutors know me already as i started the access course a couple of years ago but had to pull out due to illness plus ive just done a 10 wk pre-access course with them, so they know wat im capable of, so therefore will be able to giv me a gd reference. I will nag them about gettin mine in early though i think, they have already tried to put me off the course and do nursing instead which i said a straight no too. already startin on my ps, got a4 page so far, so need to whittle down. will prob post on here so i can get feedback on though,
