Can you do the application yourself?

I am hoping to start a distance learning access course this yr & was just wondering if it was possible to apply for uni's myself? Through the UCAS website isnt it? x

yep, that's right. It is quite straightforward. You will need someone to do a reference for you, they usually want an educational reference - fine if you've done recent study, but if like me you haven't studied for ages, you can give a work reference.

Yeah and if you are applying for 2009 entry you can fill in your application now, it wont let you submit anything until September but you can get everything just right go to www.ucas.co.uk and register to use the apply system for 2009 entry. If you are starting a distance learning course your tutor would probably be able to write a ref for you but you need to start your course soon so that your tutor can get to know you first. Are you going for the dlc access course? If so they will definately write your ref as I am doing the access course with them and my tutor is doing mine but she wont do it until I have a few units under my belt. Hope this helps

Please, please make sure you get someone to check your form for you as once it is submitted it can't be changed. Have known someone not get an interview because they left something out .
