HELP interview tomorrow and need a question answered please

To be a midwife is to do so much more than delivering babies. It also invloves care for women and babies before, during and after birth. It is to provide support for the woman and her family, be there to answer their questions regarding the pregnancy, birth and after birth. A midwife is there to motivate women, help them overcome any fears that they may have about giving birth, help them to realise that they can do it and encourage them. There role includes listening to what the woman wants out of her pregnancy, help them to form a birth plan, give advice on all sorts of things from feeding the baby, pain relief, diet and exercise. A midwife is there to carry out medical examinations to make sure the baby is doing okay, to make sure the mother is healthy, and to work as part of a team of healthcare professionals to deliver the best possible care for the woman, and allow the baby to have the bets possible start in life.

I had that answer all ready for my interview.. totally messed it up though the nerves got to me.. Dammit!

At my interview they said it would be 2 weeks time, but they try to get the letters out much sooner, i.e. the next week. Different places will have different ways obviously.

Hmmm not too sure yet! Just had my interview on Friday. I did email the admissions guy yesterday who said that I will be accepted if I pass the health check, it's not official yet but looking good.

As for midwife not nursing - a midwife supports a woman and her family through pregnancy, providing information and assistance. they care for the womans needs and monitor a pregnancy to ensure the safety of both the mother and baby. A nurse is someone who cares for a specific patients medical need and is generally there for a sick or injured person.

EDIT: What is involved with the health check? When do they do that?

Some people got the health check on the day of the interview, some didn't. We were warned on the day that some will be contacted by letter informing us that we have to go to a health check after the interview. I am not sure what is all involved, probably blood pressure, height, weight, no difficulties in movement or back troubles. Just guessing here!
