I said the midwife's role is to ensure the health of the woman and her baby during the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period. She is the provider of information and support, enables empowerment and is the advocate for the woman during all aspects of her care.

Not at all sure that is the 'perfect' answer as I am not syre there is one, but I got in anyway!!

Do you have an interview date yet?

Words like...

empowerment of women/families
informed choice for women/families
advocate for women/families
educator
deal with difficult situations calmly
attention to detail
professional at all times
aware of professional codes of conduct - The NMC
work as part of a team
work as an independant practitioner

Well, thats my view anyway....
