Whats the job situation in your Trust? or in your area generally?

At the trust I work in, 2 nq's have just been appointed to community, but overall I think the job situation round here is pretty bleak at the moment.

The group that qualified last Sept.. The ones that trained in the hospital I am training, 1 got a full time job there (there is also 2 part timers from else where starting soon) 1 got a job close by, 1 is turning indie, and the others are jobless! Tis rubbish!

Concerning.......... in my area all the nqm's were given something at least, all part time and temporary contracts and some have got extra hours at our sister hospital and make the hours up that way. The problem here is that the Obs unit looks set to close and be shifted 20 odd miles up the road and the Obs unit replaced by a midwife led service, which is great but not so great for women that wont have 'normal' deliveries and for students that need an obs unit to train in to get certain skills signed off.....
