..but look at it on the positive side - you guys sound as though you'll be far better prepared for the academic side of the midwifery programme than I was. I know that's not a lot of consolation now though....

I was actually thinking about this the other day...in my northampton interview we were all chatting about our access courses and everoyone elses sounded completely different to mine!! On my access course you have your core subjects of Communications & study skills, IT and maths(which i dont have to take) then you can pick what options you want to do depending on what course you want to do...I picked Psychology , Human Biology and Health studies. I have also done Sociology on a previous access course(its the same one!!but i had to leave because of family problems then restart). We only have one exam on each subject and thats at the end of the year .The rest is assesed by presentations, assignments and essays etc......
Whats yours like??
Sarah

My Access course is completely different again.

Social Policy & Administration Level 2
Work Experience Level 2
Social Issues in Health Care Level 3
Human Physiology Level 2 and Level 3

3 x Level 2 = 2 essays and portfolion each
2 x Level 3 = 2 essays (1,500 words) 1 assignment (3,000 words) each

I have both assignments to write and 2 portfolios to hand in.

I have finished level 3 essays on

'A universal definition of health is probably impossible to achieve.' Discuss.

Indicate some of the problems associated with health in terms of gender OR ethnicity. (Gender)

For physiology we did enzymes and blood cells for level 3. I'm in the process of finishing the effect of exercise on heart rate and blood pressure.

I havent got a title for my 3,000 word social issue project!!!! I don't know what to do it on. I was going to do it on the effect that medicalisation of childbirth has had on women but i would be too biased and I have found very little to balance it with.

any ideas I would be greatful.

Wow LittleNoo. Thats dedication. You also work and have a little boy too. Well done.

I have finished 6 level 2 essays, 1 portfolio and 4 level 3 essays. I have 2 assignments to do, 2 portfolios to sort out (time consuming waste of paper). I have 2 exams 1st week in June.

You obviously have a head on your shoulders and it shows.
