all my assignments are level three...we dont get the option of doing them at level 2 as that is GCSE equilavent. All of our options are done at Alevel equivalent. This is also because you need to get a total of 45 level 3's to pass the access course at my college ....and 60 in total...I worked out today i'm going to end up with 111 level 3's because i took on extra options!!lol

How different they all are!

We do not get any choices just get told the set timetable. We study Psychology, Sociology, Biology, English Language and Information Technology at level three. We have to complete essays and assignments for all subjects but have end of year exams in Psychology and Sociology. We also have to take end of unit exams for Biology and there are 5 in total. We also have to do Maths at level 2 and have exams and assignments.

It would have been great to be able to choose the topics I wanted to study.

Good luck to everyone in completing their outstanding assignments (just wish I could get motivated, just want to move onto uni now!)

On my access course you have your core subjects of Communications & study skills, IT and maths(which i dont have to take) then you can pick what options you want to do depending on what course you want to do...I picked Psychology , Human Biology and Health studies. I have also done Sociology on a previous access course(its the same one!!but i had to leave because of family problems then restart). We only have one exam on each subject and thats at the end of the year .The rest is assesed by presentations, assignments and essays etc......
Whats yours like??

Whoa!!! I done the access course last year and our assignments were spaced out with different deadlines as much as possible. The most i had on the go at one time was 5.

But don't worry you'll get there, if your tutors are anything like mine they will support you 100% of the way. They were Fantastic! I really don't know what i would have done without them.

I done it, i got through it and so will you guys. Believe me it's worth it!

Just try and work on one assignment at a time and don't panic.

You can do it! And there's loads of help available on here. Oh how i wish i knew about this website when i was doing the access.

xx

We've done:

Sociology: Poverty Essay, Health and Stratification Essay, alternative therapy presentation.
Psychology: Behaviuorism and Psychodynamic Approaches essay, Abnormal Psychology presentation. Research project on memory.
Anatomy & Phys: Cells and genetics question based assignment, Skeleton essay/q's assignment. Nutrition assignment.

Anyone doing anything similar, I'd be happy to email you my assignments so you can get an idea. I'm not bragging but they all got high level 3's so would give you a good idea, if you have similar asignments.

My Access course is a pilot, it has all been level 3 over 1yr.

We didn't get a choice over subjects, were given a set timetable and it gives 45 level 3 credits at the end but assignmenst are also graded A, B, C, D etc.

We do:

Human Biology: Cell Biology (2 assignments - questions, lab report and final exam), Exchange and Transport (2 assignments - questions, lab report and final exam) , Control and Coordination ( 2 assignments - questions, an essay, then a final exam)

Health Professions: Working with people (2 assignments - 1 presentation, and 1 essay), Research Project (3 assignments producing overall research portfolio comprising 5000 words), Health and Society (2 assignments - 1 questions, 1 presentation)

Study Skills: produce a portfolio evidencing loads of stuff including time management, using library, using referencing etc.

I only have 5 assignments and an exam til I finish in 10 wks!!!! I don't know how I will fill the time between finfishing college and starting uni though!
