| Yes £800 is a huge amount to pay and it did nearly put me off! They did tell me though (just to rub it in!) that Had I been 24 or under it would have been free... seems that we are subsidising the course for the younger ones. They also messed up on the price, it should have been more expensive but they had already sent me a letter showing the £800 price so I refused to pay the higher amount.

| oh. I thought all of the access courses used the same credit system so as to be recognised by the universities. I know they have just changed it from the old scoring system which was 1 credit at level three for each mark instead of three credits at level three which is the new system. I am doing a lot of extra subjects though and other people on my course will only come out with 60 credits ,45 at level three which is needed in order to pass. I'm in college 3 days a week with the course done over one year . Originally I started on the evening course which was over two years at 2/3 nights a week. That was done in semesters with each option chosen was completed over that semester with an exam on each subject at the end of each semester. Which exam body are your credits with? Mine are with NOCN. xx

| I can't believe that some colleges charge for people over 24 when under 24's get it for free, that's awfull! In Wales, all full time courses are free. But our college did sneak in an enrolment fee of £40 wheich all students, even the A level students have to pay, I thought that all colleges did that until my best friend reminded me that at Swansea, we never did and she works there now and they still don't charge one. The part time access course however, is about £500-£600 per year and it's 2 years.
