Hi There

im also doing my access course through DLC and I have also just started my English. glad to see there are other people on here doing the same thing.


Im really not looking forward to the Maths, but cannot wait to start the exciting modules!!

Hope you both getting on ok, might be back on here to get some help!!

I think you may also be a little confused noo... I would argue that passive verb sentences are nothing to do with tense... past, present or future.

I don't think the examples you gave are very passive. In passive sentences, the thing receiving the action is the 'subject of the sentence', thus this would be more accurate:-
'The Access to Midwifery Course is being taken by Sarah who is confused by over complicated wording'

The above could be in ANY tense:-
'The Access to Midwifery Course was taken by Sarah who was confused by over complicated wording'

or

'The Access to Midwifery Course will be taken by Sarah who is confused by over complicated wording'

Hiya, Ive still got to finish my english lit' unit & i just can't be bothered!! LOL!! Its awful! We're doing The baron of Grozwig & Charlie Fish-The man who married himself!! Its worth 6 credits though so can't miss it out!!

Passive voice:

The cake is being eaten by Rob who is still dressed as a snowman

as opposed to;

Rob, who is still dressed as a snowman is eating the cake.
