Default maths GCSE

Hello All,

I've just realised I have to do Maths GCSE before starting to apply etc. (grrrrrr!) so was going to do it alongside my access course. Is anyone doing a distance learning Maths GCSE course or know where does can you do this through distance learning?

Hi Imogen,

Can you not do level 2 or 3 maths alongside your access course at college?

Quite a few students did that when I was on my access course, it might be worth checking to see?

Are any of these doable? (is that a word?) HTH?

I was able to study for GCSE level Maths every saturday for free at my local connections centre, maybe you could do that, as our access didn't have a maths course either. Good luck!

Yes our Access didn't have Maths in it though the college ran level 2 maths for mature students along side it on a different evening of the week for those without a GCSE in Maths. I'd check with ALL the unis you're applying to though BEFORE comitting to a course as some are happy with a level 2 equiv and other want an actual GCSE

Hi Midwifemissy, I don't know what level 2-3 is? I was going to do the DL access course and have just realised I need maths gcse grade c or above (I originally got grade D). Have no idea how to go about doing distance learning maths gcse as my local college doesn't offer it evening class (I work 3 days and have my boys the rest of the week so no chance of daytime college for me!)

Hello! Ah ha, yes mine does include level 3 maths - does this mean maths GCSE equivalent then?
