I'm starting AS Human Biology too!! on Wednesday and K101 with the OU in Oct. Probably bitten off more that I can chew, then again I have an awfully big mouth!!

just not sure i can afford to pay for home study? Any other advice will always be greatly recieved xx
I think that you can get help with costs at the OU if your household income is under £30k, have a look at their website www.open.ac.uk

it's £40 month and the 1st month is £60. The course is for one year but you work at your own pace and can finish before that. But you still have to pay for 8 months. Hope that helps

Gutted for you, do you have another local college you could go to or perhaps do an Access course. If not you could try open uni or do an access to midwifery course with the DLC.

I've signed up to do a home study A level in Human Biology for this year - I feel like I haven't used my brain for ages so also really looking forward to it! Also (finger crossed!) if i did get in then hopefully the shock of returning to uni next year might not be so great!

I am a complete stationary addict! My hubby has banned me from going into staples and hobbycraft, he also comes out in a cold sweat if I go anywhere near whsmiths or borders cos I also LOVE books!

Hi all

I'm new to this site and have just been reading all of your posts about the courses you are taking.

I've applying for the midwifery course in September 2009 but have to do some courses beforehand to meet the qualifying criteria. Have just signed up for the Level 2 Maths as I only got a Grade D in O Level many years ago!! and also the OU Human Biology course. I'm very excited although I know it's going to be hard work doing those, working and everything else a wife and mother has to do!!!
