I had the chance to witness a lovely normal delivery this afternoon, the second stage was a bit longer than the others I have seen so far, and this gave me more of a chance to watch what was happening.

I have had quite a difficult shift yesterday. had my second witness, in the morning, but when the baby was born she was rather flat, she needed a couple of rescue breaths, but then picked up quite well, by the time Mum was sorted the baby was ready to feed which was lovely to see.

I have been back on shift today, and it didn't start very well, I had writtien the wrong shift down and turned up for an early when I should have been on a late.

But everyone was fine and said it would be ok for me to stay, and then allocated a midwife for me to work with. We had...
