I need to stop worrying!!!!!!!!!!

Posted 10-Jun-2008 at 12:11 by Bee
This is my first blog ever anywhere!!! Well anyway thats me told my work that I'm leaving, was a wimp tho and told my workmate first who then made me tell my supervisor - we were outside and my boss was walking back from the shop so he shouted over to him "Come and put this lassie out of her misery, she has something to tell ye and she's too feart to say it". He was totally fine and said thats great if thats what you want to do then definitely go for it! Think he knew I wasn't happy working here anymore. All that worry because I had just finished maternity leave and thought they would be annoyed I was announcing I was leaving. I need to stop worrying, I am getting worse, so thats my resolution - stop worrying about what other people think and stop trying to predict their reactions (can you have a resolution in June - or does is have to be a New Years resolution lol ) Btw, when I was 15 or 16 I worked in a wedding dress shop at weekends and when I left school and got a full time job I was too scared to tell my boss I wanted to leave so I continued to work 2 jobs for months until I finally had the bottle to tell her - I am off my head haha So from now on I'm going to work at NOT being a wimp coz it looks like I'll have to be quite thick-skinned to be a student midwife!

Hiya, learning to say no and stand up for myself is an issue for me too - although since becoming a mum I'm getting a bit better at it! Hopefully I'll build more confidence in myself and stop trying to please everyone all the time just coz I feel I have to! Good on you too and good luck with your access course!!!! x

well at least the worst bit is over with.
I am the same i hate letting people down and find it v difficult to say no even if i really don't want to do it, but if someone upsets the kids i'm like a staffie.
It will my turn soon as i have my interview through for my access course, but it's my dream and nothing is going to stand in my way.

Well done you for doing it! you will toughen up, but don't let them grind you down. I am definately tougher than I was, and try not to take things personally as they rarely are. Don't get too tough hun!
