Time for something good to come of this
Posted 05-Oct-2008 at 23:46 by kittykat
So as you know the past week has been a bit bumpy, after learning I'm going to be a very poor person for the next 3 years wasn't what I wanted to hear, but hey there's nothing I can do, just gotta start the forms again and keep on going.
I've realised recently that I focus far too much on the future, even though I'm only 19 I seem to have the mind of a 29 year old all ready to settle down and get on with my life. Although I'm only 19, I've been told I'm alot more mature and switched on than most 19 year olds. I just want to learn and start working! If only we could wave magic wands and I'd be living in my own house, with my man, with cats and dogs and a gerbil...don't ask! I seem to think it's just all gonna fall into my lap, but after alot of thinking I've got to the point that I need to really put my effort into the next 3 years, whilst balancing it with my life and enjoying it all.
I don't take enough time to sit back and smell the roses, so if I've learnt anything this week it's to not sweat the small stuff and enjoy myself and the people around me. It's a lesson I've been taught many a time but this time I'm putting it into action!
Look out world, tomorrows another day and there's plently of flowers to smell!

Good for you kittykat, you do sound a lot more mature than a 19 year old. Woohoo for living for the moment
You're going to have the best job in the world in 3 years time so count yourself lucky! I'm 28 and will only be applying this year (and nowhere near settling down or even having a pet!

Well done kittykat! I'm in the money quagmire, but I've decided to not worry about what I can't change. I've started doing some bank shifts to get some more pennies, and been getting help from the Student Advice Centre.
Small sacrifices for three years are going to be well worth it - I've even started buying own brand baked beans!!!
