Placement

I have spent the past 2 weeks on my first placement, it's my community placement and i am loving it i have had moments where i think will i ever remember verything as the midwives i have been working with are a mine of information and knowledge....then i pull myself together and remember im only 2 months and 1 thrid of a placement in to my 3 yrs trainning!!
i have two main mentors and i think they are both great they both teach in a style that is best for me and have had no problems i know i have been lucky as i know not everyone has a good experience.
i have been spending my days taking part in the visits doing baby and mother checks, i have taken parts of the booking interview and doing all the bp's and Urinalysis. i have not yet been fortunate enough to witness a birth yet but there are a couple on the books that i have put my name down to be called!!
This afternoon was the last time i saw my sign off mentor for 2 weeks but she put all my fears at rest as i walked out today just by saying you have done well, though i knew i was not cocking up totally as i know she would have said it's just nice for it to be affirmed and i walked out feeling proud of myself for once!!
