My Midwifery days
delievery suite update

I had the chance to witness a lovely normal delivery this afternoon, the second stage was a bit longer than the others I have seen so far, and this gave me more of a chance to watch what was happening.
Mum was brilliant, and pushed for England lol. When the baby was born he needed some gentle encouragement to 'get going' as he was slightly blue, but after that he was fine.
I feel I had more of a chance to bond with this couple, and to be involved in the birth, even though I was only watching, it is hard to explain, but I felt a part of their birth, haven't felt like this before and it was lovely.
I can't believe I only need two more witnesses and then I can be hands on, I can't wait for that now.
