End of first year.

Exams all done!

Well, I finished my last exam for the first year today, now the waiting begins to see if I have passed or not.

Although I know I have slipped up in some places, I just hope I have done enough to pass.

After three brilliant weeks on delivery suite, I am now on the post natal ward for my last placement week as a first year.

Lovely catch

I had a lovely catch yesterday morning. It was very relaxed and calm, even though I only had seconds to get my gloves on whilst another midwife held the head back a little to enable me to get the catch right at the start of my shift.

My mentor just stood back and let me help mum deliver...

Learning curve

I took over the care of a lovely lady this morning with my midwife when I went on shift.

She was a primip, and already fully dilated and pushing really well. As the morning progressed I could tell that she wasn't making the progress expected for the effort she was making.
